Question Smaller Orbital Polisher To Match Flex 3401?

With a brand new Flex 3401 on hand already, what would make a good match for it to get those smaller, tighter spaces?

Dispatch- When my GG (*pneumatic*) or Rupes Mini won`t fit, I do it by hand. Between those two I`d recommend the Rupes Mini. My GG 3" *electric* is utterly useless.

But I think you oughta look into the Rupes Nano, which I`ll eventually pick up unless something better comes along.

I dunno...I`d want something besides the Flex 3401 (not flaming, I have/love/use/recommend it) for the final finishing anyhow, and something in the sorta-small side for stuff that`s in-between what the Flex 3401 can do and something as small as the Nano. I find 3-4" pads incredibly useful so IMO you oughta consider something that works well with those.

Especially when finishing softer paint systems.

I bet! Heh heh, it never finishes out quite well enough for me even on my hard clears!

I have to say, I like the Flex PE8-4 80.

I especially like the extension bars.

Eh, no rotaries for me any more...never gonna touch either of mine again unless I use `em with a pad-washer or somesuch.

Would you say the Rupes mini is better than the Flex PE8-4 80?

The Rupes Mini is a Random Orbital with a 12mm throw. AFAIK the Flex PE8-4 80 is a rotary, and thus it`s an apples/oranges comparison. Some guys would want a rotary, but I`d want a RO.

The Rupes Nano ibrid has both rotary and RO modes, IIRC. That`s what I`m getting next.

But does the Rupes utilize extention bars?

Ya know...I felt that way fo a LONG time, and I still just do tighter spots by hand. But I`m really eyeing that Nano ibrid by Rupes.
