Not much talk about the Flex long throw around here. I highly doubt the Flex is underpowered vs the other 2- that`s just not flex`s style. I`m guessing smoothness and balance would be the biggest differences in experience.
I`d say all three are very comparable in power. All 3 are great, but I can stall all 3. I`ve never tried the XFE with a 5 inch backing plate yet, and use a LHR 15ES M2 with the washer mod almost daily.
If you`re looking for more power...and the only reason I can think of is you`re dealing with super hard paint or working on boats and RV`s (gelcoat) then I`d say you need to step up to a rotary.

I have a friend who tried the flex for awhile and sent it back. Said it vibrated terribly. Can`t beat the Griot`s, the give you the washer and tell you it`s okay to put a 5 inch plate on a 21. Plus you can`t beat the warranty. Had one of the first rupes in the country, excellent tool but I won`t use anything else but Griot`s now!
I used the prototype, wasn`t impressed..wasn`t smooth..stalled easier
Used version 2 down florida for pre Detail fest, It was comfy, but again..wasn`t impressed due to the 6in BP.
I think it`ll be better with the 5in.
bt all in all, if I do get one..it`ll be a version 3 lol...people are still having same issues with version 2 with backing plate separation as they did with version one..
This will make me skip on the Flex 12mm mini when it comes out, as im sure itll be same flawed design.
Boss all the way

Awesome which boss would you order 21 or 15
15 for starters, the 21 can be a beast wth a 5 inch pad! If you`re not used to it you can do damage!
Absolutely!
15 is a great a machine.
