    Polishing gloss black wheels

My new wheels (bought a few months ago) came with a few scratches in them and after discount installed them I personally witnessed a guy dry rubbing them with a horrid mf looking towel, which I obviously immediately stopped him from doing any further.

Anyways i plan to bdx them in a few minutes and i want to polish them to be coated with pbl wheel coating i have. Will do this throughout the week in the garage

i have never polished gloss black wheels before.

    Edit:
Here`s what i have that i am considering using...marring appears as so...

Will either polish via mothers polishing cone or mini ball and my corded drill.

These are my choices on hand:
    Menz 4500/ 1500
    Poorboys Pro Polish (1 and 2), ssr2
Pinnacle Advanced swirl remover and Finishing Polish
    Blackfire SRC compound (overkill?)
    3d AAT compound and polish
Rupes white or yellow polish (green/blue too)
    griots fine hand polish
    Uber 3.0
Zaino pc (from my original days)
    Megs 105/205/up/uc

    Thoughts / opinions?

I suggest starting by hand instead of going straight to more aggressive polishing with a drill & power cone

I would try the Drill with polish ball & AAT POLISH for a starting point. AAT should give long working time and finish down very nicely.

My poor old arm would not take the entire 4 wheels by hand.

I forgot to mention i have a strained left tricep, bicep and shoulder according to the work doctor.
I actually will be doing this by drill so least aggressive first and low speed if course. These are my cheap for now wheels that insurance paid for. I still have my factory wheels in a box. I just want them to look their best.

Great excuse to use some of this sample bottle. 3d was my first thought.

    Re: Polishing gloss black wheels

My first recommendation would be to determine if they are clear coated wheel. I don`t have black wheels anymore but I wrote this some time ago. These wheels were clear coated.

    Those are nice results.
According to the manufacturer these wheels are painted black with a clear coat.
I don`t want to go out and buy anything else though.

I did my MB AMG with the Mothers Cone and Optimum Hyper Polish. Worked great in removing marring and leaving a glossy finish. Coated with new version of Optimum Gloss Coat. Look great!

BF Src by hand via orange 3 pad. Should knock at least 70% of it right out.

Or Rupes green pad via da + AAT or if need SRC. Keep in mind this is wheel paint, it is tougher then normal paint.

The concept is the same regardless what product you use. Any of the options you have will work.
