Different couterweight. 7336 uses a 6" counterweight, which according to many is better when using 6" pads. I ahve a 7336.

A friend has been using a 7424 for a long time with no trouble as well. Apparently vibration at higher speeds is less with the 6" counterweight.

7336 is marketed as a sander while the 7424 is a polisher

awahl63 is correct. The 7336 is "marketed" as a polisher/sander. The 7224 as a polisher.

With the exception of the counterweight...the machines are identical.
