    does the size of the pad change the rpm? is a larger (8 inch) or smaller pad better?

    The RPM shouldn`t change. The speed of the edge of an 8" pad will be slightly faster than the edge of a 6.5" pad. That`s the only difference I can think of.

    The wider the pad is the faster it goes on the outer perimeter. Stick with the smaller pad for better control.
