I purchased the 7424 porter cable polisher.

I purchased the Lake country pads.

6.5" in orange, white and black (all flat pads)

4" in orange, green and white (all flat pads)

After reading several post, I think I may have made a mistake in purchasing these pads. Do you think they will do a good job, or should I spend more money and buy the sonus? I would hate to do damage to my paint by using wrong pads.

I have never used a porter cable polisher before. My car is red and has a hazy look to the paint.

The hazy look is probably oxidation. Use a cleaner like Klasse AIO to remove it. Or if it`s actually very fine scratches, a good polish with the PC will remove them easily.

I haven`t tried the LC pads myself. What do you have the 4" pads for? Isn`t the backing plate larger than the pads?

I bought a 4" backing plate for those pads. I thought they might be a good size to use on the spoiler and mirrors. I may not need them at all. I am new to this.

Both the Sonus and Lake Country pads are excellent. You should be fine there.
