I have a 1996 Acura integra GSR, in red. It is in need of some serious help.

First i have tar/rubber along the lower sections of the car that is stuck to paint, how to remove?

Next the paint has really lost a lot of its gleam, what products are recomended to retain its shine?

Picture one can show the black debri stuck on the paint behind the wheels

picture two shows condition of paint in general from a distance it looks ok, but their are swirls, slight sratches and other deformations.

    Thanks

Well as far as the faded paint goes: I would bet that you could clay it and then use a little 3M SMR on it then slap on a coat of Souveran and it would look great! Acuras usually have nice quality factory paint so thats helpful in this situation for sure.

Also if it`s a daily driver some Zaino might work better or Klasse perhaps those are a little more durable to the outdoor elements.

Mainer eh?? I`ll leave it at that...heh heh heh Anyways, your car isn`t that bad at all. Oxidation is at a minimum, and tar is no biggie. Those clears and rims look sharp!! I think that is a different Acura logo if I`m not mistaken. BTW, a `96 is not "old" in my book, maybe compared to most Autopian`s cars but not to me.

    This would be my plan:

    1 Remove tar

    2 Dawn wash

3 Regular wash and the car probably needs a claying

4 3M SMR or one of the 3M FI`s (SMR should suffice)

5 Klasse AIO/SG and top with Blitz. Option#2 Zaino or Blackfire

6 Put on the sunglasses and enjoy the shine!! :scared

    A little question about KAIO

I know it`s hard to believe, but I`ve never tried Klasse AIO. So, with a order pending, I`m asking ya`ll - can you use it with a PC and a rotary? I`m assuming the LC green pads are best.

    Thanks!

You can use it with either a DA or Rotary. I like the green pads with any AIO, but you can also use white. If you wanted to use the Hydrotech pads, you could use the tangerine pads. They have a good amount of cut, and finish down very nicely.

Maybe I`m just ignorant, but why would you want to use a PC with Klasse?

It`s supposed to be a light cleaner with no real cutting power, and using it with a PC wastes a bunch of product.

I just apply it with a damp MF sponge. That way you don`t have to worry about hitting rubber components, and it`s really quick to get on/off.

Actually KAIO will remove oxidation, minor swirls, old wax, and other surface blemishes, so it does have some cut to it. Most AIO`s are pad dependent, so it would be safe to assume that if it works differently with different pads, then a machine would help as well. It would certainly help with minor swirls. Not only that, but by using a PC, it would speed up the process.
