Flex 3401 is a "Forced Rotation" machine:

    Rotary RPM: 160-480
    Orbital OPM: 3200-9600

Actually, I just found something by Todd, he states the MAX OPM for the Flex 3401 is 4800.

I prefer to use the Makita 9227 most of the time. I keep the PC handy with a 4 inch for tight areas. I have an old PC and I have a love/hate relationship with it. I hate it because it is slow, vibrates, and really has no real handle. I love it because it is just so versatile.

I pulled that info off the Manufacturer`s product specs. (Orbital OPM: 3200-9600 from PAC website)

Until last summer I`ve been hand polishing/waxing my boats & cars for over 30 years. So as I?ve gotten older, I began thinking about how to make this an easier process. I first learned about Machine Polishers while searching on a boating web site. They recommended a Machine Polisher by Shurhold. I decided to give it a try. It came with a bag, side handle, ?D? handle, spare brushes, and backing plate. Also, it has a 20 ft power cord and GFCI protection on the plug end. I?ve been pleased with the performance. I came across PAC?s site while searching for additional pads. I?ve learned a lot from this site since last summer and will continue to learn from the pro?s on the forum. Thanks to all for sharing their knowledge.

    I have a PC, PCXP, FLEX3401, Dewalt 849, and Makita 9227c.

I voted for the PCXP simply because it`s a great all around too and I find myself using it more and more each day. My rotary will always be right there too though.

Interesting. With both having a DA motion, why do you use your PCXP more than the 3401?

Ability to use different pad sizes and it`s also easier to control. The forced rotation of the Flex can cause it to wonder around.

I just now finished up watching the Reruns, and it was good! The actual performances were so much fun. Sandra Bullock totally was the best !

I have a Makita rotary, Porter Cable 7424 and an old GEM random orbital.

My go to polisher is the 7424 and I use the Kevin Brown method.

Definitely the most popular choice! Over 100 votes now and the PC is in the lead with almost half the votes!
