The tool I use the longest on paint correction is my Hitachi rotary. I do use my PC on every vehicle but I use it for AIO and LSP applications only.

If my Hitachi ever gives up the ghost I will replace it with either a Metabo or a Fein. If my PC dies I`ll replace that with an XP.

PC, UDM, Flex PCXP, Makita 9227. I use them all. Just depends on the car and the detail I am doing.

    I have:

Two 7424s. One is 5 yrs old and still works fine. The other is newer and has a 4" pad setup. As noted above, a 4" orange LC pad/M105 will get out just about anything.

One XPPC that I have used for the last 6 months. Not a bad machine, but IMO only a slight inprovement over the 7424.

One G110 v2- I have only done 3 full corrections with it, but I used it for a 13 hour polishing marathon yesterday. I use it on speed 5 to do what I used the XPPC on speed 6. So far I am in love.

Makita 9227-Pad spinning dry machine #1. A must have for your rotary collection.

Flex 3403- Pad spinning dry machine #2. Nice and lighweight rotary. Can overheat when using large foam pads on "sticky/soft" paint.

    Sold:

Flex 3401: Not my cup of tea when using the KBM. I found it hard to apply pressure with it.

Metabo PE 12-175-The finest machine that I have ever used. Will also overheat with larger foam pads. No trigger.

Hitachi SP18VA 5 yr warranty and I needed to get the trigger assy replaced a few times.

Bryan... Do you find the G110v2 to have significantly more power and torque under pressure than the PC7424XP?

It`s the one question that no one had answered directly in a head-to-head comparison.

    (sent you PM also)

Bill, "I" think so, but maybe others will not. (disclaimer )

v2 at speed 5 on a flat surface, I think the v2 will maintain better with pressure. I guess I need to try and do a side by side to be sure. Just need a car to detail at the house where I am not trying to get it done quickly.

Well, a lot of folks "claim" the V2 has much more power/torque than the XP, but I haven`t seen a side-by-side comparison. Therefore there is no proof.
I`d really like to see a test on two sides of the same hood. Same product, same pads, same pressure, same exact working time, and the results compared. Ok, side "B" needs another 15 minutes with the XP... something like that.

If the results show a 25-30% improvement in working time, I`ll buy one.

BTW... I`m not asking you to do this!

Bill, no way you are gonna get a 25% improvement on working time. Same way there is no improvement in working time from the 7424 to the XPPC.

I can tell you for sure that after the 13 hours of fun yesterday, I have no tingling in my hands today. That is well worth the $150 for me.

OK, so you`re saying the big issue (for you) is less vibration.
