    Polisher machines

I haven`t been on here in years, mainly due to FB groups..
But curious if I`m the only one still using a 25mm longthrow?
I also discovered a 3in forced mini that I`ll have in my hands soon!

It`ll work so much better than my Makita with 3in Griot HD plate lol

    Yeah ,20mm
Repack grease and play with pad weights to tune out the machine imbalance...
Works for almost every machine.. sadly the 8mm doesn`t take to this well....still bad vibration lol

I am just curious, WHY would you think a force-driven "mini" orbital (assuming it`s a small-throw of 9mm or less) with a 3" backing plate & pad would finish out better than the good rotary like your Makita 9237C-X3 with the same 3" pad. OR is that part of the laugh-out-loud LOL, and the joke is on me??
Also did not know that Bauer makes a buffer with a 25mm throw. That`s gotta be a machine-and-a-half to handle.
Also curious what specific grease name/type you repacked the bearing with AND what you did to the counterweights to reduce/mitigate the vibration from your Bauer long-throw DA buffer.

    Reference for Grease:
Grease repacking ? Any opinions ?
    Reference for Counterweights:
Post drilling out counter weight for 5 inch backing plan

No, prior to the forced mini, I`ve repurposed my Makita PO5000C forced 5in machine into a 3in.. like one would do with the typical GG6
Was a laugh out loud due to fullsize machine/3in plate being a tad cumbersome.

    I do have a 3in rotary though.

    Harbor freight/Baur only makes a 20mm.
The 25mm that I have is Cutforce polisher

Any good high bearing grease will do .
    It helps a little.
Swapping to a 5in plate on the 20,21 and 25mm help accompanied with different pad weight.

Different weight pad will midigate vibration the most. Some machines like a heavy 40-45 gram pad(you HDO or force)
Others like a 25-35 gram pad..
Some like a makita PO like a 15gram pad (which is LC thinpros)

25mm machine is just as easy to handle as the Baur 20mm and the commin 21mm machines.

Yeah we have one of those being sold here in Sweden. The 3" forced mini polisher. Evoxa HDX5 X-Drive 75mm is the name of it here. Have not heard anyone testing it out though. 5mm throw 850W 2000-6000opm is some spec on it. Looks just like the case of a Rupes Mini. But it looks like it has that 3401 aluminum shroud but it`s covered with plastic.
Will be interesting to see what you think of the one you are getting.
I just bought a new 15mm instead of the 21mm I have. The 21mm I will save for big panels or I need that extra cut out of it. I bought it for around $80 4 years ago. So it`s the low end and it`s very easy to stall. The grease melted the second time I used it. So switched that out after that and it made a great difference in holding it cooler and less noice from it. Bought a 123mm backingplate directly. As the original 150mm was knowed to break almost directly. The 15mm is an amped up Max Shine polisher with better internals as ballbearing and such. They who have used it and the Rupes. Says it`s in between markII and markIII when polishing with it. Will be fun to see how it is the first polishing this spring.

    Re: Polisher machines

Did you happen to know the RPM and orbits per rotation?
    I know old 3401 orbits 10X
    10X480 rpm = 4800 opm .
So always laughed when i looked at its opm specs on sticker and vendor sites

And even with that, ^^^^^, the Flex 3401VRG never broke down all the time like all those newer Italian machines did..

Guess that is the difference between a company that makes machines that polish stone, and another that just makes machines...

    Re: Polisher machines

There where a big car show this weekend here in Sweden. Where those who sell detailing products have a big showup on. It`s like our SEMA Show. A store that rebrands and makes them after their whises and sells Flex and Rupes and Maxshine to name a few brand they sell. Just released this weekend a 25mm longthrow polisher. It`s not up on their website yet though.
