    Very cool. Almost frustrates me that no one has a dedicated door handle solution

    Would also work for reaching under rear wings or elevated spoilers. It IS more sander than rotary buffer, though.

    Who makes ultra-thin pads for polishing that would fit the head of this buffer?

    Amigo !
    I hope you and yours are all safe from this virus..

    I think the only reason there will never be a solution for under the door handle (the door cups), is that the semi-sharp-sharp edge that goes around all door handles, has of course, less paint on the edge. So running any kind of pad under there that hit that edge would quickly take off that paint and now you have a big problem..
    And some door handles are bigger, longer, are closer to the door cup, etc...

    You could probably use a pad with a low nap like a microfiber pad. Here’s what one user was using;

    Well, there goes my idea: someone already beat me to the punch for a flex-cable drive (think old-time mechanical tachometer or speedometer cable) small polishing tool that attaches to a rotary polisher drive. Thanks for the post.
    Sure beats the heck out of doing things by hand or using cotton swabs or foam-on-stick swabs.

    Dave, do you you have such a tool in your detailing arsenal?? To me, this looks like a MUST-HAVE tool for any professional detailer.
    My problem would be two-fold:
    1) I have to buy a rotary polisher (DeWalt or Mikita) for the drive power;
    2) I could REALLY be an obsessive-compulsive detailer and have EVERY area inside-and-out on vehicle polished to perfection. (adding more time and fueling the great debate to Autopian All-Star Mike lambert`s question, "Why so many hours detailing?")

    The above picture of polishing the after-market over-sized fender under the headlight is an excellent application of this unique Flex flat-head tool. Like the saying goes; "There is the right tool for every job."
