What pads do you like on a 75mm mini polisher?

Just ordered a 75mm mini polisher this friday. So wondering what pads you like on them.
I ordered some foam medium cutting pads and foam finishing pads.
Was thinking if you like mf cutting pads or foam woll cutting pads or even a harder foam cutting pads? If you have different brands of them would be awesome also.

Maybe I need to have a medium polishing pad too in the setup? And recommendations would be helpfull.
And do you like the higher profile like rupes foam pads or like the Lake Country thinpro pad?

Any insights are welcome and thanks in advanced!

The Rupes pads are nice. The buff & shine uro tec pads resemble the look and feel of the Rupes pads and work well. I do like the Meguiar`s microfiber pads as well.

I assumed the Rupes ones were OK, if pricey, but mainly I`ve been wondering about the B&S ones (for just this application).

I too like those, but I thought they were discontinued.

Meguiar’s 3” microfiber pads were brought back a few months ago.

I just picked up a Rupes 75mm mini. I have’nt used it (no swirls..yet). Picked up 2 yellow, green and UHS Rupes pads. May need to add a white pad to apply sealer just to play with my new toy.

If this is a 75mm (3" polisher) ,why does Rupes only offer a 100mm (4") pad???
Seems like you are being forced to use Lake Country, Shine-n-Buff, or Meg`s 3" pad IF you want 3 inch pads.

I am assuming this polisher comes with a 75mm backing plate.

It also has a 12mm throw, much like the Rupes Duetto, which does come with a 100mm (4") backing plate.

Same here, well...mine was a Christmas present way back in `16 but it`s still unused.

Heh heh, IMO you`re about 25% there with regard to "how many pads" Well, you oughta be OK for spot-correction with two/each.

The Rupes pads are 3" at the backing plate interface and flare out to 4".

I use the rupes pads and I have some 3in Boss microfiber pads and some 3in Flex pads that are for the PE8 but work well on the 3in polishers.

Justins00ss- Which pads do you prefer between the Rupes and the GG Boss in that small size?

Ok, I broke down and picked up 2 white pads for either a sealer or with Sonex Perfect Finish (one step). That way I’ll be sure to not cause any harm to my for the most part swirless paint. With a 4” pad I might be able to get by with just one polisher (only need to polish roof, sides and hatch, have ppf on the rest). Might be just enough real estate for the job (we’ll see). 3” pad would be too small.

Re: What pads do you like on a 75mm mini polisher?

I have some different pads on the way home. If I feel that a thicker pad is in need I would ad some rupes pads.

Have you seen any difference to pad stalling between a thin pad vs a rupes pad? On the concave parts maybe it`s a difference?

Finally I get to wash the cars know! Was a couple of days before christmas last time I washed them.

Will do a review and write up in spring when I will do my car. Polish and protection work. See if I can get someoneto film a little too with pictures

Thanks for shareing your input guys and gals!
