    Broken Shaft

The shaft broke on my Griots 6" DA today. Does anyone know if Griot`s lifetime covers broken shafts? Unfortunately I did not by it from here.

I had to finish my nephews jeep by hand, luckily I only had the back to finish. Used HD Speed and Power lock.

Where did you get it at? Try calling them or call Griots direct for repair or replacement.

Call Phil first and see if he can help you. If not able, then call Griots direct.

Thanks, I just checked his site and it appears he no longer carries Griot`s. So I`ll call Griot`s in the morning.

I would assume they would replace it. Lifetime is lifetime.

    Re: Broken Shaft

I have been through 3 of them. Every instance was the shaft breaking. I keep taking them back and they keep replacing them. I`m lucky to have a warehouse local so I don`t even have to ship it.

    Re: Broken Shaft

Yeah me too. I shipped mine back to Griots (not the Washington location, Indiana or something) per the insert in the box. New one came in like 5 days.
Griots must have a huge supply of these.

    Re: Broken Shaft

Huh, thanks to all who posted about this! I`d heard of it happening with the PCs but never with the GG6. At least it appears that when a GG6 shaft breaks it doesn`t pose the dangers that it does with the PC.

    Re: Broken Shaft

Griots responded with a form for me to complete to send the defective unit back to them. They will then replace it with a new unit. So my only cost is return shipping which is definitely cheaper than buying a new unit. They said it will take them about a week to process the return.

    Re: Broken Shaft

Thought I`d follow up and let everyone know that I did receive a new replacement! I mailed the old broken unit back on 9/28 and received a new unit yesterday.

So approx 2 weeks total and $21.13 to mail. It included a 6" backer plate that I never had since I bought my old one with a 5" plate. Anyone need a 6" plate? It also came with a 1 ounce sample of their Poly Wax. I`ll have to wait a bit before I try that one someones car.

    Great warranty service!
