    Re: New polisher quandry.......

Honestly I don`t think you can go wrong with any of them.

    My personal collection

Makita rotary with different size BP
    Flex PE8 3in, 2in, 1inBP
    Flex 3401
    GG 3in
    GG G21 with 6in and 5in BP

One thing I still love about my 3401 is that I know that it`s always correcting paint and doing it well. My biggest issue is how hot it gets doing hours of correction work.

My G21 is a dream to use. Especially with the washer mod and the GG microfiber cutting pads. But even with a line on the BP to check rotation I still am always concerned about the "stalling" effect. Even though it seldom happens.

For tight A and B pillars my pe8 almost always comes out.

Have you been able to update us if the Mach 2 update was worth it or not?

To add If Ron is about adding more shine to his vehicles he probably only needs the 15.
Sorry Sean, I meant to quote this response and hit "report" instead. New polisher quandry.......New polisher quandry.......New polisher quandry....... it was an accident. Damn iPhone.

Anyway, I haven`t had a chance to use the Mk II yet. However, I`ll be using it TOMORROW (Fri) for the first time.

Car is washed, parked in garage and ready to go.

So, I will report back. The consensus seems to be it is noticeably more powerful from what I have read. I haven`t seen anyone disappointed yet.

The fact that it can do it with a smaller motor, makes me think it`s more efficient - which MAY mean it runs cooler. However, heat really hasn`t been an issue with these polishers IMHO.

Good to hear you like the new rupes 21 Wendell.

Any tips on using the rotary? What speed, pads, and polish work best for you?

    I hope it`s a new Rupes mark 2.

Can`t wait to hear feedback. Only real think that keeps me from pulling the trigger is I find myself using the 3" on the whole car. I hate switching machines and re priming pads. I just plot along. Slow and steady. Good thing I`m not charging myself by the hour.

I`m curious what backing plate you used on the Mark ll?

I heard the ES backing plates don`t fit the new Mark ll`s
