Start dancing..BETTER than 845 in every way I can think of but sometimes a different look.

But the FK1000P isn`t as trim-friendly as 845. I`ve used it on exterior black plastic trim and even some rubber bits, but it can go haywire so I basically consider that approach to be "don`t try this at home, kids!". If you try it, apply even thinner than usual and buff it off before it flashes.

That 1 slipped my mind...though I usually am cautious around that stuff...even with 845

Thanks that`s good to know and I believe that`s the first time I`ve heard that.

No need to be careful around trim with 845, it`s what I used on trim for ages before gradually getting away from it.

KAIO + 845 is great on trim/rubber. KAIO + KSG is too but you need to buff it off immediately (which some people do with KSG anyhow). Just do the thin application thing that I harp on anyway and it oughta turn out great. 4

76S can work well for this too, but IMO it`s really "!don`t try this at home, kids!" because of the potential for issues. And IME when it dies it leaves rubber looking worse than before so I suspect it`s not a, uhm..."healthy" thing to do. Not that it actually damaged the material (I know the car`s current owner, it`s still fine).

    2 coats KAIO and Fk1000p?

Older topic revisited, but I thought I would update.
Since I applied KAIO with 2 coats of FK1000p back in November, I can now say that it no longer offers protection. I did a good hand washing the other day and there is no beading or sheeting.
Because I only had a few hours of warmer weather ( no garage) I took advantage of the time to add a quick coat of 845 which went on surprisingly quite easy considering the temp outside was only 5C.
Hoping this might last a couple months until the odd warmer day shows up.
It may have done better had the weather stayed colder here in Ontario, but it has been unusually warm -4c - 7C quite a few days which brings out sander and salters more.

marinesoup- Huh, I`m a little surprised that the FK1000P died off so completely, but I bet your winter is a lot harsher than ours.

Re: 2 coats KAIO and Fk1000p?

I put a coat of AIO and 2 coats FK1000p on in June and it`s still looking and working great. OF course, I live in Los Angeles, so I can count the number of times it`s been rained on with one hand, the number of hand washes with two hands. Snow, salt and sleet, nope, just a distant dream (or nightmare).

I did the same with my wife`s black Toyota, she has it washed (not touchless) when I can`t get to it, and it`s still holding up too, even with those rubber bands slapping and rubbing against it in the car wash.

What`s "winter" ? Is that the latest offering of *white* wax by [name removed, as I don`t want to bash]?

Come to think of it...I kind of like "winter" as a name for a white wax!
