I have a friend who just stripped the chrome plating on his wheels and now all it is, is bare/unpolished aluminum. They are perfectly smooth, so all that is needed now is to bring the shine back out. the design is very simple so it will be `easy` to do, given iI know the best method. Are the power balls you buy at the parts store sufficient to do this?

Sure it`s alloy and not steel?`

    I would suggest a 2 step approach for cutting & polishing.`

HD Metal should work, just need to figure out what pad will do it best.`

Yes is is alloy. I understand you push HD stuff a ton and I`m sure it`s great, but can you recommend anything else that`s readily available at parts stores?

Mothers might get you there? I have a feeling that you`re gonna need to get aggressive at 1st to break into that shine so I would also invest in a wool polishing ball if you can find one.`

goto home depot and buy metal buffing wheels that you can use with your drill, then buy an aluminum polish, thats how i refinish aluminum bbs wheels all the time good luck.
