Has been repainted. But for the life of me I can`t get this to finish down.

    `

It looked like this when it came in:

    `

    `

    After 105 with a Megs lite cutting wool on a Flex 3401, I went to 205 and a B&S Green then Menz 4500 on A B&S Blue

    `

    and it still has this:

    `

    `

If you look closely where the three led lites hit the paint you can see, what? marring, swirls?

    `

I`m about to give up and go to work @ WallyWorld.

Well I hit it one more time with 4500 and it cleaned up but I`m still interested in others techniques for finishing down. I realize all paints are differnent but still ...

    LeMarque-

No experience with the paint system you were working on, however, if I`m pulling out wool (which I have been quite a bit lately) I always follow with 2 more steps. `So... it would go something like this for me... wool/ compound, orange/ compound, black/ polish.

    `

When I`m `lost` ... I`ll just pull out every pad and every bottle of product, put them on a small bench beside me, and start dreaming up combos. `A person is only limited by their imagination.

Well, on another forum (lack of feedback here makes me feel anathematized) it was suggested that a red pad with 4500 would be the way to finish down.

    `

Anyway, here`s the result. Finished with Poxy

    `

    `

    `

Those white spots are not wax. Paint`s chipped.

LeMarque- Glad you got it sorted out.` My guess is that the issues you struggled with were quite possibly from the M105 step, maybe a combo of that and the M205.` I`ve had some issues that sure resembled that and that`s what it was in my case.` I too sorted it out via lots of "final finishing"-level work with very mild stuff.

    Thanks for the reply Accumulator.

I tried every combo of pad and compound - including the new Adapt - and the only satisfactory initial cut was with wool. Admittedly, I`m some distance from an Autopian ability to finish down on certain paint. But I feel I`m getting very close.

swap 205 out for menzerna powerfinish and you will be good to go!` also, if you have defects still to be removed, 4500 will not cut it, but 4000 might do the trick.` Sonax perfect finish is a really good medium between powerfinish and 4500..

Give this a shot sometime after your wool pass, MFDA cutting pad, primed with D300. Once primed, use two dots of M105 and `two dots of D300. `I use that with my 3401 all the time. It wipes off with ease and cuts very nicely. On soft paint you`ll want to follow it up with tangerine and 205 as it still micro-mars

Sorry for not responding sooner, but as all those who detail full time know, this is a bear of a business to run and manage. So much time with work, customers and employees ...

Anyway TS!S, I have tried that or a similar combo in the past. The Rolls in particular was a real challenge, and for me, while I`m not downplaying the proper technique to correct, it`s finishing down on certain paints where I need more experience.
