hey, dumb question: i just bought the new CG Orange and Black Microfiber Polishing Pads for my DA polisher and was wondering the best way to clean them after use? I have the CG Pad Cleaner but i wasnt sure if that would be good for the MF.

I would appreciate any input! Thanks

I spray then down with Meg`s APC plus, scrub with a tooth brush, and then rinse with the hose while holding it. Works every time.

I found Dawn Power Desolver works good, I also scrub with a brush, got a neat little one in the dollar bin at Advance Auto. It works good to get grease out from under your nails too, wife appreciates that when we go out and I don`t look as redneck!

Re: How should I clean my MF Pads?

I read a prominent detailer state that you are not supposed to use dishwashing liquid to wash pads - said it breaks them down. Read that before I started using them so I don`t have experience trying that. He recommended a citrus based cleaner instead as it will clean without leaving a residue and won`t break them down. That`s what I`ve done and I`ve had good luck.

I use Blackfire Pad Cleaner (spray it on, let dwell for 10 mins or so then agitate with a denture brush and rinse- perfect every time - except for Black Hole and Natty`s Black...those are not coming out I guess (but that`s ok they are dedicated pads anyways)

Never hurt either my Meguiar`s MF disks or my foam pads. I`ve used regular Dawn, Dawn Power Dissolver, and various APCs with no problems at all. It`s not like MF is fragile IME.

If that`s working then you could always just stick with it.

I guess Dawn Power Dissolver went the way of ProLine grout sponges. Power Dissolver was unbelievable. Still grieving.
