What are the pads you reach for and enjoy using for compounding & polishing? What ones don`t you like using?

I do love the Meguiar`s MF pads. Also LC CCS or Flat. I have used Megs Soft-Buff pads on cars, but i now use those on boats and RV`s, i like 5.5-6 in pads on cars better.

Meg`s MF cutting pads and LC flat yellow, orange and white are what I use most. Also been using the HF orange and blue pads while they`ve been on sale. Haven`t used anything yet I don`t like, just been sticking with what I know works well for me.

For cutting I currently use Meguiars MF cutting discs and Buff and Shine orange 5.5" pads. For polishing I like Meguiars MF finishing discs as well as the green and black Buff and Shine 5.5" pads depending on the paint. Next I plan to try the Carpro cool pad and cool wool pad for heavy cutting.

I like Tuf Buf black wool pads on the DA for cutting. I still prefer foam over MF for finishing.

I`m still learning the rotary. I`m learning that of wool, cutting, polishing, and finishing pads on the rotary, I can get a similar cut with a polishing pad and 205 or UNO with the rotary compared to my most aggressive combo with the DA. I can`t believe so many recently started disliking the rotary for heavy compounding. I`m still learning it, but I really love the smooth operation and awesome defect killing ability of it.

I bought the Dewalt 849x, btw.

Megs MF (cutting/polishing) pads for cutting

LC Hydro tangerine and crimson for polishing/finishing on most paints. The new Rupes pads are looking impressive as well but I need more time with them.

One more for Meguiar`s MF cutting disks.

For polishing, I just might do more work with Griot`s orange polishing pads than with anything else

Jean-Claude- Ah, I`d wondered if anybody was still favoring the PFW! I`ve pretty much retired mine since discovering the MF Cutting Disks.
