I like DeWalt, and have a rotary, bought before they came out with the new one, and on paper - it would appear I should have waited. However, the local detailing supply store told me they`ve sold 3 and had to send 2 back. That never happened with the old machine. I guess they will get it sorted out, but it seems that either quality control is lacking at the plant or they didn`t do enough R&D.

The issues were over-heating and plastic parts breaking........
All I have in this world is my word, and my balls and I don`t break `em for no one, you understand?"

Well I went on to 3d`s site and low and behold no more HD polishers, the page is totally gone.

Did 3D recall the polisher or what?

It`s gone; vanished just like dollar bills at the strip bar!

    LOL!!! That`s hilarious, Bret!

This polisher has some issues that definitely need to be ironed out. There`s two that jump to my mind: The inconsistency in torque from one polisher to another. Also, I`ve noticed, the polisher heats up the pad very quickly, and much more than any DA I`ve ever used. This just goes to show, it`s not ALL about how powerful a polisher is.

I still think this polisher has issues as stated in my prior post.

Maybe have the website guy post something on there stating that you are out of stock, etc. so those that want to buy it will maybe wait for it.

I think on the 2nd batch you need to start including Garry`s fabulous Cord Control Clip in with the kit seeing that he`s probably been responsible for a few of the sales....:spot

EDIT: oh wait, all you need is another thing for people to complain about. :tape2:

The usually 3-4 that jump on every 3d post(even though they have not tried them) will for sure.

    Pretty much!

I do agree, the cord clip should definitely be in the kit.

Darn, I missed out on the polisher!!! I guess no word when another batch will be out? Looks like I will be going with one of the other junk DA`s such as the Flex or similar since I hear they have issues... I am a rotary person and never use a DA but have come across a few jobs this past year where a DA would have helped on finishing with soft clears. As for DeWalt rotaries, I bought mine about 5 or 6 years ago and use it every single day and noticed lately it gets so hot to the point I can`t even touch the metal head on it. Not sure if it`s just because it`s summer out and 110 degrees in my shop or what? The other night when it was cooler out it didn`t get that hot but was close. Sure hope it doesn`t go out!

Besides the 3D and Flex DA type polisher, what else is out there and good or decent quality that I can most likely buy right away? Even if I get something next week I still plan to buy a 3D polisher to try out and give my helper the machine to use and learn on.
