Something to also look into is the new Flex quick-change backing plate system - I believe it`s priced at about $50 but it has both 4" and 6" backing plates.

well, i`ve encountered a little drama while attempting to replace my backing plate. the damn nut will not come out. It just spins and spins and spins. I removed the nut from my other flex just fine. So i sent the one in question to a shop so they can tap out the nut.
