Since I`m sure the money will be no problem to pool, we just need someone to pull it off in Texas!

After reading through this epic thread, I have come to the conclusion that Mr. Suggs has developed his skills through apparently self-taught experience. He does have some unique skills, as evidenced from the dialogue about his use of the razor blade. However, to say that no one does it better or that no one is as good and that the rest of the "professional detailers" cannot match his abilities is just plain ignorance and self-pride. His unprofessional demenor toward those in this Autopian forum , of whom I have the utmost respect for, is self-evident. Those in this forum who have tried to offer him an olive branch of acceptance have been met with scorn and ridicule and outright verbal abuse toward their abilities and character.

What is is most appauling is that those who watch his videos THINK that his technique is THE way to properly handle a rotary buffer will suffer the bad effects of doing so in trying to emulate those techniques on their own cars. He seems to do so with great speed and makes it look easy, especially with a DeWalt orbital, which is not an easy machine to handle. As stated, he has developed his own technique, right or wrong. In his eyes it is the ONLY way.

Granted, he does have his niche and clientel, and if he were truly that bad, he wouldn`t stay in business. The general car consumer has been bamboozled in accepting a swirled car as being "polished" or "detailed" and there are a number of products that mask or hide those "imperfections" to the benefit of car-lot and dealer "detailers" for the sake of time and effort. It is unfortunate the the consumer is the loser because of their ignorance.

That said, this forum continues to educate those who frequent these threads, and I myself have greatly benefited from what has been written and seen here to undo my own ignorance and teach me better methodoloy and techniques along with information about new products that greatly enhance my self-proclaimed passion for car detailing.

I would hope that the moderators would lock this epic thread with this post. This forum has a civil decorum and reputation within the detailing community that it needs to honor and maintain. THE END?

Agreed with Thomas- it`s open and unless it turns into a flame war it will stay, and Lonnie - you have summarized it the best I`ve seen, I agree with your points. We all have to deal with customers that have been dealershiped detailed and it`s not easy to get them to understand. I tell them basically, you can clean, polish out the imperfections, and wax OR you can just glaze over them like the make-up Tammy Faye use to cake on.

I`m honestly think we need a super duper glaze and just tell the customer that if they aren`t interested in maintaining or have me maintain their car, and they`re just going to the tunnel of swirls autowash, then this glaze is for them. Glop it on every 6 months and be done with it. I personally know people that would jump on this choice in a heartbeat.
All I have in this world is my word, and my balls and I don`t break `em for no one, you understand?"

No one else in Houston want to check out Jeff`s work? I`m in town and would like to see some of these "corrected" cars. I am really interested in the results.

This guy is absolutely amazing. He`s worth his weight in gold in terms of entertainment value.. just so long as he stays away from my car. Even if I were an uninformed customer, I`d probably tell him to hit the road after he pulled out his camera and started saying the things he does. In the video linked just a few posts above with the Jetta, Look at that gross black pad and how he swirls the polish around with his finger.. what a wackjob. I love how he keeps referring to the Porter Cable as a "Portal" also.

This guy totally reminds me of Zed in Pulp Fiction too, which makes it even better.

*Edit, if you listen closely, you can here him hit the mirror with metal end of the Dewalt at 11:47 of the Jetta Vid above. Nice.
