I have a quick question for ya. Purchased a DW849 (type 2) a while back. I never knew there was a type 1/type2 While I am happy with the machine, I noticed the switch is quite sensitive. If I set the speed lets say for 1500 rpm, there is no gradual speed increase with the swicth, it basically goes from 0 to 1500. I am in the process of replacing the switch when I noticed the switch for the type 2 polisher is discontinued. The type 1 switch which I purchased is not the same (wiring). Any suggestions?? THANKS

Thanks for the replay. I will rephrase the question. When you pull the switch/trigger (regardless of the rpm`s you set) can you slowly pull the switch/trigger where the rpm`s gradually go up or does it go directly to the rpms you set on the dial (as mine does). If so, then I guess that`s the way it is. I was actually thinking it would be more like a drill where you can slowly increase the rpm`s which I can`t do which is why I`m thinking maybe it`s the switch.
