Keep the felt ring under the backing plate oiled with Air Tool Oil.
Before each use, make sure the center bolt holding the backing plate is tight. If it`s anything but nice and tight while you apply pressure at anything but flat, you may burn up your backing plate.
When you burn it, you`ll smell it... :angry

Wow, now that I`ve posted this, seems like it`s old news. Sorry about that.
Now if I could only feel my fingers again after having to use the PC to do the job...
Thankful I had a backup!
