Just got my 7424XP yesterday and started on my girlfriends 07 CRV its a dark metallic red color and the condition is on par with any other 2 year old car that has not been abused... light swearls...

    anyway...

I started with a 3M compound with Orange LC pad (one pass) then fallowed that with the 3M Perfect it II Sweirl remover - Dark and a white LC pad(one pass) and it looked awesome, no swirls, no scratches, just a perfect reflection. At this point I`m a bit proud of my self....

    Now on to my problem

I have been using Zaino for years with good results but never after a machine prepped job. I did one of the doors with Z-2 and ZFX and when I went to remove it with a MF towel, I was left with a hazy sheen.

What did I do wrong? The machine part went well, but i cant figuer out why the Z2 did not complement my work.

    Please help!

:ignore (<I`m chilling at a coffee shop

My first guess is that the PI-II left some oily residue that the Zaino didn`t like. Try doing an IPA wipedown and apply the Zaino again.

    (PI-II = Perfect-It II, IPA = Isopropyl Alcohol)

I will have to wait until she gets home to try, but that could work.

let me just say THANK YOU, for breaking down your acronyms. Nothing is more frustrating than trying to figure out what the hell people are talking about when you are new to the forums (like me).

    again, thanks!
