    Hi there,

Firstly, sorry if this has be asked a billion times. After doing some research I want buy a polisher to do minor corrections on my 1 year old metallic charcoal gray daily driven Acura.

Due to budget I have narrowed it down to 2 polishers that I can get my hands on

    1) Meguiars G-110 polisher

-D handle (looks easier to use than side handle PC)

    -more power

-reading somewhere that it has a safety clutch

    -dual action

-megs pads readily available at local auto parts shops

    -hardcase

-no kit available in Canada have to buy the pads separately

    -made in China

    or

    2) The original Porter Cable 7424

    -random orbital

    -proven reliability

-unsure where it is made in?

-i can buy a kit that comes with 3 LC CCS pads that is a relatively good deal in Canada

I don`t think power should be a big concern since I am only do correcting on my Acura (believe it has softer clear coats)

I am not by any means a "professional detailer" just a guy who wants to keep his own ride looking nice and "swirl free"

Which buffer should I buy from the above choices and why?

Which buffer is the safest to use by a novice?

What 3 colors LC CCS pads would you buy when first starting out to correct the minor swirls on the Acura?

After a good 2 bucket wash & dry:

Do you have to clay? (My car is garage kept and clayed about a 2 months ago)

For swirl correction should I start with Optimum Poli-Seal and a black CCS pad..if that doesn`t work change to a white CCS pad?? Or get the Menzerna PO85RD instead of the poli-seal?

I am going to use the black pad and top with PS21 or NXT 2.0??

Sorry for all the newbie questions....any answers/comments will be appreciated.

I`m just looking for the simplest 2 step (correction polish) & wax

    Thx,

    Donald

go to rightlook.com and check out the "Cyclo" dual head polisher. It is almost impossible to burn your paint with unless you used the wool pads and sat on a ridge for a long time. It is made to last forever, and has been around forever!

Rightlook has all the training you need and they have all the supplies you need too. Once you get some of their training you will be head and shoulders above 90% of the other detailers out there in a very short time. No disrespect to those who have learned the trade hands on... I know there are thousands of highly skilled detailers out there who are ten times better than me, but if you really want to get good fast get some real professional training at Rightlook!
