So i used my PC for the first time today, and i noticed something. As soon as i was pressing down, the pads didnt look like they were spinning. they looked more like they were just vibrating. I was using and edge 2000 pad, and i was wondering maybe cause the pads were too big. Or could my pc be messed up?

    What size pad?

    Sounds pretty much normal.

It`s fine, when something spins very fast, your eyes can`t keep up with it and it looks like its doing weird things. Have you ever watched a car drive by and it looks like its wheels were spinning backwards? Same idea...

Use a marker to draw a radial line on your backing plate. It will be easy to see if the pad stops spinning.

be sure your not puching down to much on the p/c. that would cause it to stop spinning as well

The PC is pretty easy to bog down, especially with large pads. I`d suggest going to 4" pads if you`re using a PC. The 4" pads will not bog down as easily and are much more effective at correcting than the larger pads (on a PC).

Like green dimnd suggested draw a line on your backing plate and it will be easy to see when the pad stops spinning.

I dunno how anybody gets anything done with the larger pads, they simply don`t do it for me :nixweiss

Make sure you aren`t applying too much product. Too much product tends to gum up the pad and stop it from spinning

I agree, you already have to sit there forever with the PC. Might as well sit on one area for 10 minutes if you use 6.5"+ pads.

I agree with Ness, edge pads are the worst as far as spinning with the pc. 5.5" pads work better, but the 4" pads are the way to go with a pc. You need a new backing plate however.

Yea the pad is a 6.5 inch double sided pad and i think it is too big. Its the only pad i have, good thing i didnt buy into the edge system too much. Ill buy some 5.5 inch pads and actually use a backing plate this time. Thanks for the tips guy.

Anyone got an extra 4 inch backing plate they wanna sell me?

I don`t have an extra but this guy does :

    Backing Plates

You want a 3.5" BP to use with 4" pads. I thought Edge had 4" pads you could use with their adapter.

Good recommendation, Patrick (im pretty sure thats his name) is a really great guy to deal with, i have purchased stuff from him before. I kinda dont want to get into the edge pads after this experience. Maybe if the ones i ordered that got lost show up somehow ill give those a shot.
