I searched but couldn`t come up with anything more recent than 2003 so here it goes- I`ve been starting to use the Makita more and more (maybe a dozen times total- purchased in Dec.`07)and yesterday I noticed some oil coming out from around the larger bolts near the head (4 of them). It wasn`t running at the time, just caught my eye when I picked it up. I wiped it clean, stored it but noticed a little bit more this evening. It isn`t alot but I`m wondering if this is something I need to be concerned about or if its just breaking in and purging excess oil. ANy input would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same thing happen to my Makita after its first use. It was about 104 degrees out too so, yes, it`s probably just the grease makin` it way out. Although not 100%, I "think" you can repack the grease very easily. I wouldn`t worry too much about it.

Thanks for the replys- it hasn`t been too hot and I keep it stored in the basement, but since this machine is just now starting to get some hours on it I`ll assume its just breaking down some gear grease.
