I`m picking up a Makita but was wondering which backing plates and pads are most popular.

    Backing Plates:

Do the Meguiar`s W-65 and W-64 work with the Makita or do I have to go with LC plates?

    Pads:

In terms of wool, which would be the better route... the Edge wool system or LC?

    Any input is appreciated!

I believe Ferrol or Ferro(not sure of the spelling) makes the backplate for Meguiar`s

Anyone know the correct spelling ?

If you bought your polisher in North America then it should fit "any" 5/8-11 UNC backplates. European machines use M14 threaded backplates.

Myself, I am trying to find myself some 3M backplates for cheap ...LoL
