Anyway you can only go so far (shine wise) with abrasives, you gotta go to the non abrasive products to take it further

I guess 3M feels that most are going to sand out the surface to at least a 1500 level.

Have you actually removed 500 sanding scratches with Hi Temp? Maybe it`s possible on a fresh paint but not on cured paint.

Honestly, who is using a compound on 500 scratches? I finishes always with 4000 grit. It makes the polishing so much easier

I got a bottle earlier this week. I haven`t used it yet, but the 3M Rep says it`s incredible. I`m wondering if it will have similar results as Meg`s 105? The nicest thing about it is it smells like tutti frutti candy

This is how 3M is changing the look of their labels/bottles to:

I have been trying to get a rep in my area to get me some but none of them have any. I`ll have to try to get my hands on some. Thanks for the heads up David!

Most compounds probably contain similar chemicals.

So, has anyone tried the new 3M Perfect-It Rubbing Compound #06085?

I see it`s offered for sale on the web a few places for around $31 for 32oz, about the same as M105 -

    Terry`s Auto Paint Supply, Inc.

    3M Waxes, Compounds, & Polishes

Oh, and I suppose it will need an acronym if it`s worthy; PIRC seems available as a search reveals it`s only been used twice, in 2002 and 2005

I have tried the new 3M compound #06085 and it is the worst compound I have ever tried. It reminds me of something that was made in the early 80`s. I had a very hard time washing it out of my pad.

There chemist has no clue at all in what paint correction truely is and needs to reformulate the new compound. I have no clue who they had test it, but they need to be fired!!!!

They have all new products this year.

The Swirl remover polish is a tad better than the old, but still nothing special.

Ultrafina is no longer Ultrafina, it is now called Ultrafine polish. I was told it was untouched and is still the same just with a new name.

I am really bummed out with the new compound and thank god I did not have to buy it.

If I had to rate this product (06085), I would rate it one of the worst compounds I have ever tried in 18 years.
