    I have a Makita PV7001C vertical polisher that I`ve been using but I`m a bit confused about the actual speed settings. It has a dual stage speed system, where stage one is a fixed 600rpm and stage 2 is adjustable via a dial with numbers 1-5. However, the owner`s manual has conflicting info. First, it says it`s adjustable from 600-1200 rpm. But then the included chart which shows how the numbers correspond to rpm looks like this:

    1=600rpm

    2=800rpm

    3=1300rpm

    4=1800rpm

    5=2000rpm

    So I don`t know what to think. I`m going to call Makita next week to find out but I`m wondering if anyone here can provide some insight.

    I don`t think there are many members here that use that particular Makita.

    I didn`t think so but I thought there might be somebody. I guess I`ll just wait and see what Makita has to say.
