Just got mine yesterday. Delivery brought rain with it

Hoping to try it today. Heavier than I expected, but looks very well made.

The guys at Powerhouse Distributing could not have been more helpful. And arrived in just a couple of days from across the country. Well done.

Detail University - Automotive Detailing Community is having an AWESOME deal on the flex by the way.

Buy the Flex and get a 32oz of SIP or 106ff FREE. Kind of wish I didn`t buy the Makita. :nervous:

I was waiting to see if one of the online detailing companies was going to start selling it. Looks like the price is $299 with the free polish. I`m not sure if you could use the 10% discount advertised on Detail University`s website. If you could, then that would be a good deal at about $270 for the Flex and polish.

Quick Edit: I just looked at the site again and it states that the promotion code for 10% off does not apply. So really, I`m not sure how great of a deal this is. i think SIP and 106FF go for $49. So, you`d be saving about $10 before shipping.

Hey, WK446, congratulations!!! That`s great news. Sounds like it`s your first. You`ll get all kinds of advice about babies, but the best anyone ever gave me was that the next 4-5 months of your life will be a black hole. Simple things such as just running out to the store or wanting to work on your car aren`t so easy to do anymore. My son is 2 1/2 now, and I`m working on turning him into my Jr. detailer. We also have a 10 month old baby girl. Once you have 2, the fun really starts. But, anything more than 2, then you have to play zone defense instead of man-on-man!

    Congrats WK446!!

Though my wife and I just recently got married....she`s already becoming a little "baby crazy".

Thanks guys. It`s my second child. My first son is almost 3 years old. Apparently I had all but forgotten what the true meaning of sleep deprivation was... However, the joy of being a father outweighs everything else!

Yeah, my wife got me drunk and took advantage of me on our first. Watch out, man, once they get that itch, they don`t think about anything else.

My kids are now 9 and 13, I can`t believe how fast they grow up. I miss how they use to jump for joy when " daddy`s home!" Now it`s - hi, gotta do my homework, door closes. But all I can say is enjoy every minute you can with them cause no one will ever love you or need you as much as they will.

Sorry to dig up such an old thread but I got a question regarding the Flex which I`m currently using. Since the Flex doesn`t accept smaller pads (4 inch), how do I go about in polishing tight areas such as the A-pillar or the front and rear bumpers?

Do I tilt the Flex to the side so I use the edge of the pad to come into contact with the panel? Or that`s a big nono? Pardon me I`m a noob!

That`s what I do. I wouldn`t suggest doing heavy correction with a lot of down force that way...but for general polishing, I`ve never had any problems.

I should add certain pad types are better for this...obviously don`t tilt so much that you`re not using the pads polishing surface.
