To mist, or not to mist. That is the question.
Are there times when something like XMT Pad Conditioner is not appropriate? Same with a QD spray....yes? No? Maybe?

Because my products like to be worked while wet, I religiously use a liquid spritz

It all depends on the product...
if you`re in doubt, try it and find out what happens.
^^ As above, this will ultimately depend on the product you are planning to use...
Before using the pad for the first time in a day, I will "prime" to with some QD... I know of many folk who will also run the rotary at slow speed on glass for example with just QD to help prime the pad also and this seems to work well - with the pad primed I find I get a more reliable first set with the polishes, with less absorption of the lube into the pad which with some products I have seen reduce the work time on the first set or two...
However, regular use of a QD can affect some polishes in a negative way - and also, some QDs will do cause problems, some wont... Last Touch for example seems to react badly with the wax lubricants in the Menzerna cerami-clear polishes, perhaps LT contains silicons which cause this problem. However, with something like Farecla G3 which is a very dry compound, a regular spritz of QD I find is necessary to keep the polish work time.

It`s been a while, but I seemed to have read that some detailers were just misting the pad with plain water - anybody heard of that?
All I use is watered down clay lube, but I have used plain water and it`s totally fine.Originally Posted by JuneBug

I use Danase Pad Conditioner all of the time when using a rotary. Not so much when on the UDM.
