So I have a Dewalt Rotary, and a little experience.

Just recently bought a 07 Lexus IS 250, and it has pretty bad swirl marks. The car is Obsidian Black in color.

    Products I have:

    Mequires Wash Soap

    Mequires Wash Mit

    ICE Detailer Spray

    Mequires Clay Kit

If you could please advise me on what products I should add, along with PADs for the rotary, it would be greatly appreciated. Also, if you could list the order I should use the products.

I do have a practice car as well.. lol

Check this link out. This is my old car and my friend did the detail. He put the steps down as to what he did. Please note, Lexus Black = Soft

How much experience do you have exactly with the rotary? Like someone said above, the Lexus has a very soft clear, and it is a PAIN to finish out with a rotary even when you have lots of experience! Many guys will resort to a DA for the finishing polish stage with M205, as the DA won`t produce the holograming that a rotary will on a soft paint.

Your best bet for a job like that is hit it with the rotary + M105 and a polishing pad. Once you get your correction, hit it with M205 and a DA. I see some bad RIDS in there though; you may be looking at wetsanding as well in which case you should take it to a reputable detailer... Good luck and make sure to post pics of whatever you do!

I just picked up a used GS350 in Obsidian as well, and started my detailing project last weekend before the rain. It is clearcoated, and I used Menzerna IP with a rotary at 1300 RPM. Got most of the swirls out, but still have a few RIS it seems like. Hope to get a shot at it again. I don`t know if Ceramiclear is on there or not??
