    is it safe to use the backing plate that came with the makita?

    I just got mine yesterday, and I put on that backing plate. Im going to use it on some practice panels, but I have a flexible backing plate on order, so when that arrives, this one is history...

    It`s safe to use and does fine. Once mine had gotten out of balance, I replaced it with edge and LC plates.
    Car care/detailing sadly isn`t high on the agenda for 98% of australians.
