my rotary backing plate has 6 inch velcro with a small foam lip-is it safe to use a pad that is the same size as the backing plate for flat panels? I know it wouldn`t be a good idea to use a 6 1/2 inch pad in tight areas.

I`m running a 6" backing plate on my propel pads which are 7". the velcro backing on the pad is 6" so the BP is an exact fit. I havent had a problem with this setup.
