    Yes Tom - it`s not a normal hook/loop backplate, it`s screwed onto the machine...so you can`t just unthread the backplate for a different sized one, or a carpet cleaning attachment, etc. Other than that after having owned and used both, it`s just as good as the pc.

    1200 rpm is a reasonable speed. most polishing can be done in the 1000-1500 rpm range

    just seems a bit high for a machine that has only an on-off switch. At least the metabo goes down to 700rpms.
