Einszette Cockpit Premium - Water Spots

I have a Jeep with light gray vinyl door panels. I recently detailed he interior with 1Z Cockpit Premium and was quite happy with the results. It removed a lot of dirt and left a nice matte finish. But after running out to my car in a heavy rain storm and getting my door panels wet when I entered the SUV, I noticed that after the door panels had dried, that I had ugly, black bordered water spots and drip marks all over the parts of the door that had been hit by rain drops.

A re-application of the Cockpit Premium removed the spots, but it looked pretty bad until I was able to get home and touch them up. Has anyone else expierenced this with Cockpit Premium?? Is there a similar product with a matte finish that may have better resistance to water spotting?

    Thanks,

    John

I`ve had it happen plenty of times, I get the same from sonax dashboard. You might be better off with something like blackfire interior protectant. It`s a bit more durable and you can pick the level of gloss.

+1 on following up with an interior protectant like BF IP, DP ISP, or 303. Not only will any of these fine products force water to bead up but they also provide a layer of UV protection to slow down the sun`s damaging effects on vinyl and leather surfaces.

I also prefer a matte interior finish and have achieved great results buffing DP ISP and 303 after a waiting a few minutes to let the products cure.

For additional finish options, Todd wrote up an excellent how to guide:

1Z Cockpit Premium is really nice stuff to use. Whenever it runs out you may want to consider DP`s Total Interior Cleaner. DP`s TIC works on more surfaces and is slightly cheaper per oz.

If it helps, here`s a review I wrote up comparing 1Z CP to DP TIC:

And a more recent one comparing surface protectants:
