    Favorite product for rubber seals?

I am wondering what everyone uses for their rubber seals. I have searched and read the posts across many forums, and believe that maybe a few products have been missed. For me, as an enthusiast and not a professional, price point and profitability doesn`t matter as much. That being said, I don`t like wasting money, but I will pay a premium for a premium product.

Currently, on my 991 cabriolet, I use 1Z Gummi after a thorough cleaning with an APC, in this case, Optimum Power Clean diluted 1:3 or 1:10.

I am interested if anyone has any experience with Zymöl Seal or Swissvax Seal? Truth be told, when I was 16 I first found out about cleaning and conditioning rubber seals from Zymöl, when I bought my first "premium wax": Zymöl Carbon.

I do love the applicator of 1Z (please note I did not mention Wurth because I believe their seal conditioner has been discontinued) but I am always looking for the next greatest product (it`s a problem...)

What does everyone use and what do you think the "best" product is for this specific task?

Ive been happy with the 1Z, easy to apply and lasts! Just sucks that I always rip the foam applicator off!

Had some impressive results from Pre Wow and Black Wow recently. I cant imagine a product being much more effective, but I know there is a lot that I havent tried.

Re: Favorite product for rubber seals?

I recently did a F150 that has large rubber seals along the bottom of the driver/passenger windows.
His issue was that no matter how much he washed the vehicle the rubber bled black down the doors.
There were constant black lines down the sides of both doors caused by the corroded rubber seals.
He was very hesitant to do a detail on his truck believing that the next time it rained they would return.

I spent time sanding the rubber sills with 1000, 2000, 3000 until the surface was smooth like brand new.
I then coated the rubber with Carpro Dlux. Dlux is a coating not a dressing. Dlux dries hard & is not oily.
Although it does not have black dye, Dlux has a rich look and darkens the rubber and plastic trim a bit.

Just a FYI - Since the application of Dlux it has poured down rain many times and it did not run.
I can not state from experience but from what I have read Dlux should last up to a year or more.
In the durability/longevity arena folks say there is no comparison with Dlux vs. other trim products.
What I can say is that the person that I did their rubber trim with Dlux is finally happy with the truck.

and no...I have not tried it on tires. I like PERL (thanks Roshan) Perl is not a semi-permanent coating.

For door Seals I almost always use 1Z Gummi. Quick, Easy, and Not Messy.

I have used Meg`s #40 in the past as well to clean and protect. It works well, but I still prefer 1Z Gummi.

1Z Gummi seems like a good idea and product. Has anyone used PB TR on seals? I have tons of TR and was wondering if I could simply use that. Thanks.

I have used PB`s Trim Restorer, PB`s Bold N Bright, Mothers Back to Black, 303, DP Protectant, and few others. They all seem to work. The key is to keep them clean and keeping something on them seems to help.

Technically, many seals are not rubber but usually some variation of a foamed polyester material.

Not to hijack my own thread but how do you like PB Bold n Bright? I was thinking I may pick up a bottle of the gel for tires. I think it gives a nice look from what I`ve seen.

You will love Bold and Bright. I find myself using it more and more and flipping between PERL, Zaino Z16, and Bold and Bright. Two coats definitely give you more gloss.
