If your determined to get them out, take apart the dash and vacuum them. If you`re lazy, they will eventually die because they have no food.

I dont know about that. My SAAB had spiders for years... They never went away. I was going to try maybe leaving an open bowl of rubbing alchohol in the car over night hoping the fumes would drive them out, but I had to get rid of the car before trying that.

It appears you live in Florida.

Long ago I lived there for six months. You folks don`t have bugs, you have "creatures".

And you also have an exterminator business on every corner.

Your friend cannot be the first with a bug in car issue. Ask a local exterminator. I bet it`s a somewhat common problem in your area.

You need one aerosol can of insect bomb.

Put down rear seats and open trunk lid. Fill the car with vapor from the trunk area until can is empty.

Close trunk and wait 2 hours before airing it out.

    Bugs dead.

If it`s a brand new car, then take it back the dealership and let them play exterminator

Leave some Lizards in there and they will eat the Spiders. Just Kidding. I would use a citronella insectacide and that should do it.

Jesus, I have no solutions but I almost went into a ditch once when a spider dropped in front of my face from my headliner. Kill those things quick!

I would gripe to the dealer too. Your population must have taken a little while to build up to these not-so-fun levels?

I would try a direct application of one of the new super synthetic pyrethroids.

Google Lambda 9.7 CS, or Demand (same chemical). This chem will not stink, once dried, and likely lasts long enough to kill off your emerging foes. Follow recommended rates, and apply lightly with a syringe and sponge. Using gloves, wipe down the entire "emergent area", trying to get a SMALL amount of chemical INTO the recesses with the syringe. Keep a towel on hand for any drips. These types of synthetic pyrethroids are quite safe, and basically non-staining....but are not a super-fast knockdown. Killing off all your friends may take a while. Older 10% Permethrin may be easier to find in your area. Many buggs have become resistant to this product though.

    Glen,

Try some insect fogger or other similar smoke type insect "terminator" in your car.
Let it bake for a few hours.
That will take care of the bugs and their eggs.

    P.S.:
Put a paper on your windscreen telling people "You are fine and just trying to kill bugs, no one is inside" if you are doing this outside!
Last time I did that the people walk by called the police!

There is no way my girlfriend could handle spiders in the car. She freaks out if one is five feet away from her lol. It`s pretty funny.

I had something similar happen to me, but it was with ants. Parked my car underneath a tree for the day while at work. Went to leave and got stuck in traffic by a train, I look down and I am covered in them lol. I freaked out and rolled into the person in front of me who was an elderly lady. She got out and said, "What happened?" and I said, "I don`t know my car has ants all in it!". She just looked at her rear bumper and got in her car and went on her way lol. I am still not sure if she believed me or just thought I was crazy.

Move up North and leave the car outside during winter. The cold will kill them.
