i have had this for a long time on my one side of the steering wheel now. i have tried the usual interior care products, leather cleaner.
Any quick household/other car care products can remove this?

Unfortunately it looks like your leather is degrading. You would want to use the least agressive cleaner possible. NO household products. your steering wheel will be a sticky mess. Meguiars quick interiordetailer would be a start. Or Poorboys Leather Stuff. Again though it looks like leather failure.
One day I`ll get to do my own car.

Yup, I don`t believe you can clean that off. What you`re seeing is the actual color of the leather hide showing through due to wear.

it`s kinda hard to tell from the pics, do you think it`s just soiled leather or has the leather finish worn through the exterior layer ? if it`s worn through i don`t think much is going to help it. if you can find some leather dye, you may be able to lessen the effect once it is clean. you might check with lexus to see if they have any. if not, tandy leather . you may end up replacing the steering wheel itself if it really bothers you.

Looks like the color is wearing thin. what you are seeing is the true color of the leather. there are lots of leather dyes in aerosol cans available from most auto parts stores, or online. duplicolor makes a great product , just make sure you match the shade . no need to change the steering wheel,. If you aren`t comfortable doing this yourself, call a couple used car lots, ask the manager if they could recommend a good interior guy. most used car managers know someone that can dye this for you ....Ro
