    Window and door weatherstripping

Quick question. I`m cleaning up my Denali this morning and want some advice on what to do with the weather stripping. I don`t have any special products for the stuff at the time and wanted to know if using something like Armorall is better than nothing or should I just wait until I have a better product? Also I use Armorall cleaning wipes for cleaning plastic as it does a pretty decent job for this amituar, would it be ok to wipe down the weatherstripping with this first before I treat it?

I use several different products, Pooboy`s Natural Look provides a nice one step cleaner/conditioner as does 1Z`s Tiefenpfleger for those that are in relatively good shape. Those which are a little rougher, a light (1:10 or 1:8) dilution of an APC followed by your choice of rubber conditioner product will work. Armorall will work, but I would give it a light buffing after application, because for me, Armorall has always been a dust attractor. And yes, cleaning is better than nothing.

Try to clean the weather stripping first before you put any thing on it. You can use the Detailer`s Pro Series Cleanse-All Exterior Cleaner. Spray your microfiber towel. and wipe down the weather stripping pieces to avoid any overspray on your glass or paint, or you can use a safe APC or Meg`s #40.

Next you need to treat them with any one these fine products:

Use Wurth Rubber Care Gel Stick on your weatherstripping around doors and windows.

    Or you can use the:

1Z Einszett Rubber Care Stick “Gummi Pflege”, which conditions rubber weather seals on car doors, windows and trunks, protects and keeps the rubber elastic, restores color to dried out rubber, protects against extreme temperature and UV rays.

Meg`s #40 can be picked up at most auto parts stores and is a great 1st step. In the past I have used just this when I didn`t have any 1z Gummi Pflege.

Meg`s #40 also is a very nice tire dressing as well...
