Nice write up Todd. I`ve tried a brush on the carpet but not the brass brush. I might try that on my mom`s car... It is worse than yours was

Thanks for the write-up, Todd. Most postings deal with the eye candy (paint polishing). It`s refreshing to see a detailed write-up about interior detailing since that`s what you see more of when you`re driving. I know it bums me out if I have to drive my truck with a dirty interior when I don`t have the time to clean it after washing/waxing the outside.

Good tip on brushing the carpet. Kinda like washing your hair; wash-rinse-repeat, vacuum-brush-vacuum. I`ve seen some comments about vacuuming then blowing out the interior and then vacuuming again. Any thoughts on that technique?

A task that many assume is easy, requires attention to details to get it done right.

Those soft brushes will also save your interior trim. How many times have you been tempted to, or have used the nozzle on crevices at plastic and vinyl trim crevices? It leaves a marred surface after several times.

Thanks for reminding us to brush loose that grit before vacuuming. The buried grit is what wears the carpet.
You are very welcome. Deep cleaning the carpet is the best thing you can do in preserving it for sure.

I tend to blow out the carpet with an air compressor prior to re-vacuuming it and find that it is very useful. The trick is to press into the nap so that the reflected airflow blows the particulate upwards.

Great write up. I know one thing I hate the most is vacuuming beach sand.

Re: Tips and Tricks: Vacuuming your vehicle.

Something I learned purely by accident.

I put my house hold vacuum (I do have a shop vac - haven`t sprung for a Metro yet) on blow and blew out UNDER the dash. I was amazed at how much stuff came flying out!

I`m still not able to get vacuuming done in one pass; although the brush is a great tip.

    Thanks!
