Difference between a `steamer` and an `extractor`?

Hey all,

I was hoping someone might be able to explain to me the differences between a steamer and an extractor for interior cleaning. Is there a reason to own both? I would imagine that a steamer would be much better for cleaning headliners and such but may not be ideal for cleaning carpeting...but, then again, maybe it would. I`d love to hear from anyone who has experience using both.

I have both the VX5000 steamer and Mytee HP60 extractor.

If I had to choose one I think I would go with the steamer. You can steam more areas clean, but to get carpet truly clean you will need an extractor. :biggrin:
