Smell a leather conditioner before you use it. Does it have a solvent odor, or does it smell like
a product you would want on your expensive leather? You can also learn a lot from the label.

Go to the Edmunds town hall, and in their maintenance area is a discussion for leather care. A gentleman named traderAlex posts regularly there, he is involved in the industry somehow, I believe in the supply side of the hides to the automotive leather tanneries.
He states that the tanneries all say that it really doesn`t matter whjat commercial product you use. There may be differences (slipperiness, etc), but that they`ll all perform satisfactorally if the directions are followed.
if you do a search on his posts, there are a couple where he points to the web sites of a tannery and they recommend what to use....I also posted a link to that thread here, but can`t find it
Anyway, that`s one "specialty" forum you may want to look at.
(btw, traderAlex used hidefood, but got tired of how you have to "work it" in).
blue skies,
Andy
What is the best way to minimize scratches on textured plastic surfaces where the scratch is lighter than the textured surface or scuff marks on door thresholds?
