    Sharpie help please

Hello all, I am trying to remove this Sharpie mark on the cloth headliner of a truck, got there today. I have never tried to clean this type of mark before. Last thing I want to do is spread it out and make it worse. Does anyone have any experience or ideas of the best way to remove this type of mark ? Thank you for any help/suggestions.

Given it`s a headliner I`d wait for more experienced folks to chime in, but I`ve had good luck getting sharpie out of the kid`s clothes with Murphy`s oil soap of all things. We`d tried all the various pre-treatment things and rubbing alcohol/etc, but this is the only thing I`ve found that works.

Doing clothes, I Apply a small amount to the ink and massage it in. Let it soak a minute, then blot with a wet washcloth. You`ll watch the ink transfer to the washcloth. Google Murphy`s oil soap ink stains and see if folks have better how-to`s on it.

Hey, that`s interesting, thanks for posting it! I`ve never had to clean it off fabric, and/but always used alcohol. Great to know the Murphy`s works (even) better.

Heh heh, I`m *still* learning stuff here!

Do you have the sharpie that made that mark? If so get an old sock and mark it, let it dry and try a few things on it. Alcohol works but might make it spread. I`ve had good luck with cheap hair spray, Aquanet, on various ink stains. The hardest part is going to be that texture. I`ve never tried oil soap but let us know if you end up trying it.

@Dan - WOW such common sense advice, and yet I didn`t even think of it (rolling my eyes at myself). "sock and mark it" I will try the sock & Aquanaut, thank you very much for the help.
