Unhappy Cleaning AND PREVENTING Denim Stains on New Leather..

Got a 2015 Expedition with tan leather. Constantly dealing with denim stains.

I typically use Chemical Guys clean and conditioner lotion. Seems to do a decent job, although not getting as clean as i would like.

So Question 1 - Is there a better cleaner that will help me rid of these stains? They are new, within a day or 2 old.

Question 2 - How do i PREVENT them, short of a seat cover or towel to sit on? Is there a product that would help?

I use Leather Masters Strong Cleaner and their Protection Cream with good results. CarPro Leather coating is supposed to be excellent against preventing dye transfer from setting in too.

    Regular cleaning is key

Oh, the sweetness of a light colored interior.

I dont have a product recommendation. I use Optimum Protectant a lot. I dont know if it would solve this problem.

Looking for something for the same thing. My brother has a Mercedes with the Designo white leather (more off white very light cream) and that stuff shows blue stains from jeans like crazy. I wipe them off every few weeks when I wash it for him but some it seems to not want to come out. He had the whole car paint and trim and interior "sealed" when he bought it by the dealer hey did seem to do good job other then scratching the hood by opening it with the wipers raisded.

    I had the same problem with my Jetta TDI. This worked for me;

There is a Leather Masters Strong Cleaner, and Dye Transfer cleaner. Is one better than the other?

Reviews on Dye Transfer product are mixed. Seems like strong cleaner would be better, but curious your thoughts.

I would steer towards a product that put a barrier between the leather and the denim color if at all possible...
That Collenite product above sounds very promising and we all know how great their waxes hold up so there is some positive history here..
    Good luck !

I had the same problem with my wife`s suv grey leather seat...only the drivers side since she was the only one driving it. I used Meguiars GC Rich Leather and it took everything off. Funny thing is, I thought the rear seats really didn`t need a cleaning but I wiped them anyway...I couldn`t believe how different they looked after using Rich Leather!

Re: Cleaning AND PREVENTING Denim Stains on New Leather..

I`ve owned light ivory leather in my vehicles for some 15 years and the product I use to prevent jean dye transfer is Leather Masters Protection Cream. It works to prevent permanent stains.

I also use Leather Masters Strong Leather Cleaner. I typically mix it 50/50 with moderately hot water to clean the seats.

I`ve typically had better luck with the Strong Cleaner. I think a lot of it depends on how long it been on the leather too. The sooner you can get at it the better.
