    Navigation screen cleaning and "waxing"?

I did a search and found some threads, but none of them had any definitive answers. What is a cleaner that is safe (safety is the primary concern, I don`t care if it takes a long time to end up clean, as long as it errs on the side of being safe for the screen) for a nav screen? Also, is there some sort of wax I could put on this that would hide fine scratches? The screen looks like someone used a paper towel on it at some point, i.e. normally looks fine until it has direct sun on it and then you can see fine scratches all over.

I would recommend checking out Novus products. They were designed specifically for plastics and have a 3 step system depending on the severity of the scratches. You can also look at Meguiars Plastix for scratch removal. I don`t really know of a wax specifically for plastics. However, I would recommend Meguiars Quick Interior Detailer or 1Z Cockpit Premium and a soft MF towel to maintain them.

If you have some Clearkote Quickshine QD it is also excellent on plastics.

I`ve used Novus for non-automotive stuff for a long time, and I`m not knocking it, it is good. I even managed to get out a very deep scratch in an instrument cluster using novus and a dremel (yes, a dremel), but the screen has some anti-glare coating on it, so I don`t want to use anything that will have a polishing action on it, just something that works like a wax to fill it. I know Meguiar`s has a clear plastic wax, but the description they give says it removes scratches, so I don`t know if it actually contains polishes, or if they meant to say it looks like it removes them and it`s just a wax.

I only use Einszett Cockpit Premium on all plastics, etc., with a very soft microfiber towel, using soft back and forth motions only..
This product cleans well and leaves a thin matte, non glare finish on the screens, that seems to make any defects appear "softer"..

I would never use anything abrasive on Nav screens - too risky -

    Good luck !

Well, I ended up trying Plexus. A good way to clean, but does nothing to soften the scratches.

Meguiar`s Quik Interior Detailer works on navigation screens. I have used this kit from Meguiar`s as it`s not abrasive on my cluster gauge but not on nav screens (Meguiars Plastic Care Kit).

I have even used Meguiar`s Headlight Protectant on my shifter indicator on the center console since it is plastic just to try it out after using a plastic polish. Seemed to work fine.
