The thing is, for the MOST part - if you "condition" leather - you can`t really "protect" it. Most (all?) protectants should be applied to clean leather. Clean means no oils on the surface including glycerin, lanolin, animal fats, silicones, or whatever that is commonly in conditioners.

Conditioners are like dressings - but have an inherent problem. They attract and hold onto dirt - more than a dry protected seat. Dirt acts as an abrasive - accelerating wear of the clear coat. The clear coat and color coat on the leather is synthetic (that is what you see) - and needs no "conditioning".

Conditioners may make you seat look nice, feel nice, & smell nice - but that is the only function they serve. This is a temporary cover up only. I`d also venture to say most of it eventually just ends up on your clothes.
