Do you live in a subdivision that is governed by a Homeowner`s Assoc.? If you are governed by the association, they will have general guidelines (height, etc) for you to follow.

If you have the luxury of not being apart of a homeowner`s association. I`d purchase a couple books on the subject and design it exactly how you`d want it. The possiblities would be endless!

Check county and city regulations and then if you care you can worry about home owners association regulations. I have yet to see a home owners association sue over something like a shed. it`s just too costly to do that. The county had the strictest regulations here when I built my 12x16 shed. It was actually more difficult with the poored concrete floor than if I had just put it on 4x4 stringers.

My neighbor went with these guys. http://www.shedshop.com/

He has a concrete pad and ran his own water/electric and drywall and carpeting.

On the oher hand, my friend found DIY plans on the internet and built it himself. The only tip he gave me was to use wood screws instead of nails. Its easier to take apart in case (or when) you screw up.

Go to your local lumber yard. They will usually design one for you and drop off all of the lunber with prints and all you will have to do is throw it together.
